Higgins Apprentice Zanthy Whyte Celebrates Outstanding Achievements at 2026 MPA QLD Awards!
Higgins Coatings is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Toowoomba apprentice Zanthy Whyte, who has been awarded Gold at the WorldSkills 2026 Regional Competition and recognised as a finalist in the Master Painters Association Queensland Apprentice of the Year Awards.
The two achievements mark an exciting milestone in Zanthy’s apprenticeship journey, recognising her technical skills, dedication and commitment to developing her craft.
From Regional Gold to the National Stage
Zanthy’s Gold Medal at the WorldSkills 2026 Regional Competition has secured her a place at the WorldSkills Australia National Championships in Adelaide in 2027.
The national competition will bring together talented apprentices and young tradespeople from across Australia, providing an opportunity to demonstrate their skills, learn from others and compete at a national level.
For Zanthy, it’s an exciting next step and a chance to build on the experience and success achieved so far.
Supporting the Next Generation of Painters
At Higgins Coatings, developing skilled tradespeople is an important part of building a strong future for the painting industry.
Through hands-on experience, structured training and guidance from experienced professionals, Higgins apprentices have opportunities to develop their technical capabilities, gain practical industry knowledge and build confidence in their work.
Higgins National Trade Training Manager, Keith Prince, plays an important role in supporting apprentice training and development across the business, helping emerging painters strengthen their skills as they progress through their careers.
A Proud Moment for Higgins Toowoomba
Zanthy’s success is a proud moment for the Higgins Toowoomba branch and everyone involved in their apprenticeship journey.
As Zanthy prepares for the WorldSkills Australia National Championships in Adelaide, the Higgins team looks forward to supporting them as they take on the next challenge.
Congratulations, Zanthy, on these well-deserved achievements. We wish you every success at the national championships in 2027!
