Support for sick kids in full swing

For Western Australians, The Channel Seven Perth Telethon is a beloved annual event. This charity function has been running since the late ‘60s and includes a 24-hour broadcast of events, performances, and fundraising games. Over the five decades that Telethon has been running, they have raised over $395 million for children facing devastating health diagnoses and complications.

The Higgins Coatings family is a proud supporter of the Telethon, and in 2020, we were lucky enough to join in on the fun. Our
Perth branch manager, Brendan Childs, contributed his strength and athletic prowess to the Telethon “Swingathon” event.

This 24-hour endurance extravaganza saw Brendan perform an astounding 3,123 kettlebell swings over the day. Though we imagine his poor blistered hands went through plenty of pawpaw ointment in the days following Telethon, we know Brendan and the rest of the Perth branch were bursting with pride over their contribution to this great cause.

The Swingathon Initiative eventually raised $4,500 in donations. On behalf of the Higgins team, we would like to congratulate everybody who was involved. Brendan is already starting to train for next year!
