At Higgins, our family first values are the foundation of everything we do. We’re proud to invest in our people each and every day, supporting their development with real-world opportunities.
As an Australian owned, family run business, we’re committed to keeping jobs local and giving back to the communities we work in.
“We care about our people and want them to do well,” said General Manager of HR and Safety Michael O’Shaughnessy.
“Our development programs allow people to get good at what they do, day in day out, on the job.”
Brendan Childs did just that, starting out as a painter – turned foreman, project manager and business development manager – before becoming Perth branch manager.
“The senior management team have provided me with an individual development plan that’s been tailored to my skill set,” he said.
With mentoring from leaders in their fields, Brendan’s journey from the brush to the boardroom is one of many.
Donagh Freestun is the branch manager for Cairns. As a woman in a male dominated industry, she’s another champion of professional growth at Higgins.
“For me, it’s about your capabilities. It doesn’t matter whether you’re male or female, if you want to get in there just go for it,” Donagh said.
“If you’re passionate about it come and join a great industry… and great company if you come to Higgins.”
