Master Painters Association of South Australia (MPA) carries a purpose to recognise and endorse the highest standards in the industry. This year, the showing from our Adelaide team secured Higgins the coveted Award for Excellence.

The annual gathering celebrates exemplary work seen in the painting industry from a variety of contractors who have proven to be operationally sound, ethical and produce consistent levels of workmanship.

This year marked Higgins' first involvement in the event. "Having never attended a Master Painters Award event, I was unsure on what to expect", Adelaide General Manager Almir Djemailovic recalls. Our Adelaide team were proud to attend and represent Higgins as a whole but also relished the opportunity to be amongst like-minded people in the industry.

The night proved to be very fruitful for our team, coming away with the MPA Commercial Repaint Award for our project at Our Lady of Victories Church in Glenelg, South Australia. The church was in a state of disrepair before we revived the internals with an updated colour scheme. Higgins strives to achieve the same level of excellence in all works we undertake. 'We were delighted to win the MPA Commercial Repaint Award", Almir says.

The accolades didn't end there. "Just when we thought the night couldn't get any better, our very own Brenton Carter won the Overall Apprentice of the Year Award for 2020!" Although the ceremony had been delayed due to COVID-19, Brenton's performance in only his second year did not go unnoticed. Since then, he has continued to go from strength to strength and has proved to be a valuable asset in our Adelaide crew.
