Higgins Coatings - Large-Scale Strata Repaint Delivered Safely in a Live Super High-Rise Environment 

Project Overview

Higgins Coatings was engaged by Grady Strata & Facilities Management to deliver a comprehensive external repaint of Stromlo Terrace, a super high-rise apartment development in Wright, ACT.

The complex comprises 113 residential units across three buildings, with extensive façades, landscaped areas and shared spaces. As this was the building’s first repaint, the works were critical to protecting the structure, improving presentation and supporting long-term asset performance.

Challenges and Solutions

The Stromlo Terrace Apartment site presented several key challenges.
  • Coordinating works in an occupied complex: with extensive common areas, landscaped zones and active courtyards, access and staging required careful managment
  • Managing building defects during works: render repairs had to be completed alongside repaint works 

Our Solution

Our Canberra team implemented staged work zones, clear delineation of access areas and coordinated scheduling with strata and contractors to ensure works progressed safely while minimising disruption to residents.
 

We coordinated closely with other trades and strata representatives, sequencing painting works around repairs to avoid rework and ensure coatings were applied to properly prepared surfaces.
