Newman College
“Higgins took great care with our project, from initially acquiring an Engineers’ Report on the stability of the floor, to the re-coating of the Heritage-listed Dining Hall surfaces. Working with them was an easy and pleasurable experience.”- Eugene Spanti, Services Manager.
Heritage Revitalisation in Historical College
Higgins was engaged to repaint the interior of the Dining Hall of Newman College, part of one of the oldest heritage-listed buildings in Melbourne. Such buildings often require a particular approach as they can involve unique parameters and special care to protect the history and integrity of the building.
The internal repaint was carried out using a spider boom, as it was the only appropriate machine that could fit through the small doors, while still being able to reach the apex of the building.
The job was successfully completed during the college Christmas holiday period, as required, to minimise disruption.
