Marist College Kogarah

Marist Catholic College Kogarah is an established school for boys, carrying a rich history of providing exceptional education for over 100 years. As such, parts of the facility have seen better days. Upon assessment, the school identified the external concrete groundwork as an area of improvement and aimed to create safer and brighter learning environments for all students.

Our Wollongong struck a partnership with the school and devised a plan to upgrade various areas of the grounds. Not only would the externals be uplifted but also classrooms and common areas.

Most recently, we resurfaced the paved concrete surfaces surrounding the many faculties including Marist Centre.

It was apparent that the concrete areas had not been resurfaced in quite some time as seen in the accumulation of dirt and unsightly stains exacerbated by rainfall and high levels of foot traffic. Higgins' solution was a simple one - apply a specialised pavement coating that would ensure long-term durability and safety and improve the school's presentation. In this instance, the paint specification of choice was GAF Streetbond SB150 in a custom colour.

We knew that the preparation phase would be crucial in maximising paint adhesion. By thoroughly pressure-washing the surfaces, ridding debris and stains, our team had full confidence that the product, along with their expertise, would produce a great finish.

Despite bouts of poor weather, the project duration was minimised by out-of-hours scheduling which saw the work completed in just three weekend periods.
