The apartment building sits adjacent to a major road network that webs the vibrant inner city of Wollongong. It's exposed red column doubles to provide structural integrity but also as a distinct design cue that makes the building stand out from its surroundings.

It is typical for a building's externals to wane over time. In this instance, Le Onde hadn't received a coat of paint in over 8 years. Of course, there are factors that can prolong the life of various surfaces - that's what our Wollongong team set out to achieve. We took the time to fully understand the client's needs well before commencing the repaint. 

Within our 2-month tenure at the apartment building, all external surfaces were coated with a Dulux Acrashield paint specification which acts as a protective membrane due to its elastic properties. This is especially crucial as the building constantly encounters winds and tremulous weather conditions, being a short walking distance from the seaside.

After ground level rectification works that resulted from failures in the previous repaint conducted at the property, our team aimed to restore the surfaces to their original condition and prevent foreseeable long-term damage.

The multi-storey building required thorough project management, accounting for resident and car activity, and ideal means of access. Our project management team opted to utilise rope access and boom lifts to efficiently scale each substrate.

The completed project delighted the strata management group committee members who had glowing remarks about our work.
