Frankston Life Saving Club
Higgins' long-term partnership with Frankston City Council emanated in the recent renewal of the Life Saving Club's eroded externals. Facing the beach, the surfaces need constant care and attention to offset the inevitable damage over time. Upon thorough inspection, our Melbourne team identified areas that needed to be restored and proposed a works schedule to suit that of the facility.
Our expertise encompasses every step of the process, starting well before paint is even applied. In this case, it started with advising the Council on how to best maintain the property long-term to ensure the life of the paint, but more importantly the integrity of the substrates.
To determine the best paint to use, our estimating team extensively collaborated with Dulux and concluded that a marine-grade specification including a durable two-pack finish on all steelwork was necessary. Careful consideration was taken when it came to choosing access machinery, so as to reduce avoidable costs for the client yet ensure maximum safety on-site.
Throughout the duration of the works, our team maintained transparency by providing frequent updates.
The rendered surfaces were pressure-washed thoroughly to remove remaining dirt and debris before receiving multiple coats of Dulux Weathershield Render Refresh. Despite inclement weather which hampered progress, the level of quality did not diminish. All the while, boom lifts were utilised to access otherwise hard-to-reach areas.
After completion, the facilities' externals found a new lease on life and was once again ready to take on the surf.
