Corinda State School
Bringing a school's paintwork back to prime condition successfully requires efficient project management to execute. Corinda State School in Brisbane recognised that they needed to address the declining state of the facilities' externals. In true Higgins fashion, our local Brisbane team were quick to respond and develop a solution that suited the school.
During initial site meetings and discussions with the school’s Business Manager, we determined that a sectional colour change to the externals was necessary to bring the surfaces back to life. Aesthetics aside, there was the matter of establishing a tailored project scope and schedule of works to ensure all substrates receive the same treatment while avoiding disruptions students and staff during school hours.
The scope included minor remedial works to various surfaces to prepare them prior to coating. The painting component covered 13 buildings around the grounds. To reach higher elevations, our team utilised a combination of mechanical access equipment, trestles and planks which allowed our operatives to remain agile, while reducing costs.
The Dulux paint specification applied was according to school colours. The coatings are not only vibrant, but they also promote surface longevity and protect the buildings' substrates from the Queensland elements.
Our on-site operatives performed over 1,877 hours across eight (8) weeks during the Christmas holiday period. To maintain the level of quality and ensure smooth proceedings, our project management team conducted regular site visits throughout this duration.
