PESA is an association of educators who share the vision of promoting Positive Education in all schools - government, independent and systemic - around Australia.
Each year, a national conference brings together educators from across the country and provides them with resources and opportunities for collaboration to help them on their Positive Education journey. Following on from their support in 2016, Higgins is a major sponsor of the third annual PESA National Conference, taking place 17-18 March 2017 at Ravenswood School for Girls, Sydney.
Higgins Coatings Chairman, John Higgins, will be a guest speaker at the event and has been a strong advocate for Positive Psychology for many years.
“I have a vision that every student will be exposed to principles of Positive Psychology through their time at school, which will give them the skill set to not only influence their own lives, but the lives of people around them, “ he said.
“One day it will be as fundamental to education as the three R’s of education are today.”
To help fulfil this vision, John established the Gerry Higgins Chair in Positive Psychology at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education. He is also a member of the Advisory Board for the Centre of Positive Psychology.
