Higgins were engaged on this 3-month refurbishment project on recommendation from previous work. Working closely alongside other trades within tight timeframes, shift flexibility and some creative methods ensured good job flow. Our scope of work included a complete colour change and wallpapering to nominated interior and exterior surfaces. With a lead time of over 6 weeks for wallpaper delivery, we were able to speed this up by a lucky association with an airline pilot who was able to personally bring the wallpaper as carry-on luggage ¬– ‘Whatever it takes’ in action!
Other challenges were the hotel’s location near a main road and power lines that required specialised lifting equipment, traffic management and power line identification to manage and minimise risk. The end result was the transformation of a tired, old local pub into a new vibrant, contemporary, sought out destination, with the hotel already noting a surge in cliental numbers and preparing for a busy Christmas period.
