Higgins' Northern NSW team were engaged by O'Donnell and Hanlon to perform planned maintenance at Urunga Public School on behalf of the Department of Education.
Our operations team provided a soft wash of the Colourbond roof to remove contaminants before applying any paint. The scope of works for the project was a full external repaint of the administration building. Access was managed with mobile scaffolding, and a spider boom where scaffolding could not be used.
Given the school's proximity to the ocean, the building's substrates had begun degrading due to marine and environmental elements. With that in mind, we applied Dulux Weathershield semi-gloss for external cladding walls and Dulux Weathershield gloss for all trim items. This coating will enable future washdowns to maintain the life of the coating system and ensure that repaints are not required ahead of time.
