St Joseph's Nudgee College in Boondall, Queensland is an esteemed private educational facility that offers a first-class education to over 1,600 students from Years 5-12. The school's well-maintained facilities are able to help them increase enrolments and maintain staff.
Higgins were engaged to provide a repaint to two of the school's heritage listed buildings - the Duhig Building and Our Lady Help of Christians Chapel. The foundation stone for the Chapel was laid in 1914 with the Chapel itself completed and blessed in 1916; dedicated by the Archbishop of Brisbane Dr James Duhig.
We engaged heritage consultants to take scrapings from each building level, elevation and individual architectural element to determine the colour schedule. We provided an external repaint to both buildings, with the Duhig Building receiving some repainting internally. These buildings have been restored within the Treacy Precinct rejuvenation project.
After several weeks on-site, we successfully completed the repaint with the client providing praise for the high quality finish achieved.
