"Working with Higgins on this prominent and restricted site was easy with a splendid result" - Director, Perrott Lyon Mathieson Architects
The Mercedes Building stands in a prime location in South Melbourne, highly visible from the nearby freeway.
The project involved painting the tower's exterior with a complex colour design and came with some challenges due to the building's location. 14 different colours of Dulux Weathershield were used to achieve the spiral-type motif, which seemingly reflects the sun’s rays, and our team employed swing stages in 12 separate drops around the building to complete the works. To paint the multi-storey design, our painters utilised chalk lines and masking tape to produce a perfect diagonal line every time. Our expert abseilers were also in action to paint around the Mercedes sign on the roof of the building. The project was successfully completed to the great satisfaction of our client.
