Leighton Holdings won the contract to build an integrated transport facility and new airline terminal as part of a $10 billion capacity upgrade for Melbourne Airport. Higgins Coatings 15-strong crew had to work between the two jobs of terminal 4, which will be able to handle 10 million passengers each year, and the multi-level carpark, with 100,000m square of soffits to be painted! The airport location required special passes in order to access and carry out works amongst travellers and airport staff, while the various other trades involved in the project also called for careful planning and co-ordination.
